Series Description
Chipper junior-high school girl Miaka and her best friend Yui are physically drawn into the world of a strange book- The Universe of the Four Gods. Miaka is offered the role of the lead character, the priestess of the god Suzaku, and is charged with gathering the seven Celestial Warriors of Suzaku who will help her complete a quest to save the nation of Hong-Nan, and in the process grant her any wish she wants.
Yui's fate was much crueler than Miaka's. Upon entering the book Yui suffered rape and manipulation, and she attempted suicide. Now, Yui has become the priestess of the god Seiryu, the enemy of Suzaku and Miaka.
