In the first place, I'm sure his first name comes from Perry White, editor of the Daily Planet from Superman comics. Not sure what made me give him the last name "Knight" (a reference to Batman, aka the Dark Knight, perhaps?) But the trivia references Knight Ridder, a company which formed from a merger in 1974 (another anachronism). Not that I know anything about the company, nor have any particular interest in it; it's just a name I had heard of. Obviously, Perry is no relation to anyone involved in the real world Knight Ridder company, so I suppose his dream will never be realized, at least not by him nor any of his descendants.
