I'm pretty sure I based his name on Judge Roy Bean, which is just a name I was vaguely aware of, and about whom I know just about nothing. Um... and I think I probably made up the character before I was 21, right? So I wouldn't have yet tried Zima at the time, though I eventually did. And I liked it. Apparently it hasn't been sold in the U.S. since 2008, though I'm sure at that point it had been some years since I'd seen it anywhere. I kinda wish it was still around, but I'm sure Smirnoff Ice is pretty much the same thing, anyway. In any event, Zima was first made in 1993, so obviously it's anachronistic that Judge Zima would have drank it.
