Here Comes Garfield, on CBS

This was the first Garfield special (available on the "Garfield as Himself" DVD). I barely remember it, but it was okay. Garfield and Odie end up at the pound or whatever. Anyway... all these specials had some great songs and stuff. I'd really love to see all of them again, especially the ones I don't remember well (or not at all).

Another one I barely remember. Garfield searched for, and found, his past. Including his mom. This special is available on the "Garfield as Himself" DVD.

In this one, Garfield, Jon, and Odie went on a camping trip. At Lake Woebegone, as I recall (an obvious reference to Garrison Keillor's "Lake Wobegon" stories). I remember this a bit better than the first two, I think, though still not as well as I'd like. But it was kinda good. This special is available on the "Garfield's Travel Adventures" DVD.

Garfield in Paradise, on CBS

I definitely remember liking this one. Garfield, Jon, and Odie take a trip to Hawaii and get mixed up with some tribe that was previously visited by some James Dean kinda guy in the 1950s. Jon and Garfield each find someone with whom to have a romance, while Odie hangs out with a mechanic who's trying to fix Jon's rental car. And there's an angry volcano or whatever. Also there was a guy in this special who I believe was based on some guy who used to annoy Jack Benny. This special is available on the "Garfield's Travel Adventures" DVD.

I probably remember less about this than any other of these specials. This special is available on the "Garfield's Travel Adventures" DVD.

I don't really remember if I even ever saw this, although I think I read it in graphic novel form, once. Basically Garfield is put into different periods in history, or something. The special is available on the "Garfield's Fantasies" DVD, along with two other specials ("Babes and Bullets" and "Feline Fantasies"), both of which I'm pretty sure I never saw. But I'd like to.

Garfield's Thanksgiving, on CBS

Jon invites Liz the vet over for Thanksgiving dinner. It's not that memorable. Although I did enjoy Jon talking about different Thanksgiving holidays around the world, including Japan's Labor Thanksgiving Day. This special is available on the "Garfield: Holiday Celebrations" DVD.

Hmmm. Nope, this is the least-remembered, though I am fairly sure I saw it. Though I almost imagine it was an episode of "Garfield and Friends" rather than a special. I suppose I'm wrong. This special is available on the "Garfield as Himself" DVD.
