½ , on Disney+ It begins with scenes from the prequel film trilogy, then we see a Jedi Master helping some young Jedi trainees escape from the clones who try to kill them, before she herself is killed. Then we flash forward ten years. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is now living on Tatooine as "Ben Kenobi", hiding from the Empire. Three Inquisitors arrive on the planet: The Grand Inquisitor, Fifth Brother, and Third Sister (aka Reva). They're looking for a different Jedi, whom they eventually find and kill. But Third Sister is obsessed with finding Obi-Wan, though her boss and colleague both advise her to drop it. Meanwhile, on Alderaan, Princess Leia is being raised by her adoptive parents, Bail (Jimmy Smits) and Breha Organa, who hope she will one day become a Senator, though that's not what she wants for herself. After she is kidnapped by bounty hunters, Bail and Breha prevail upon Obi-Wan to rescue her. At first he refuses, but later reluctantly agrees.
Well, lots of stuff happens, and various other characters are introduced. Obi-Wan receives some help from a group called the Path, which helps Jedi hide from the Empire. Its members include Tala Durith, who is undercover as an Imperial officer, and Kawlan Roken. (Maya Erskine has a background role as a member of the Path, but I was greatly disappointed by how trivial her role was.) Obi-Wan also faces Darth Vader in battle a couple of times (as well as flashbacks to when he was training Anakin). It was fun to see Vader in his prime, and yet nice to know he wasn't unbeatable. And I don't really want to say anything else about the plot. It was a reasonably enjoyable series, and I liked young Leia. But it was nothing earth-shattering.
