LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, on Disney+
Atomic Cartoons; Disney+ Wiki; IMDb; Lucasfilm; On Disney+; TV Tropes; Wookieepedia
This is the second CGI Lego Star Wars special on Disney+, released in October 2021, though I didn't watch it until October 2022. Of course it's not about Halloween, but it is about scary stories and came out the same month as Halloween, so it's kind of meant to be a Halloween special, I guess. At one point, BB-8 even gets painted to look like a jack-o-lantern!
After fighting with some TIE Fighters, Poe and BB-8 crash their X-Wing on Mustafar, where they meet a Hutt named Graballa (Dana Snyder). He's turning the former castle of Darth Vader into a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, the place came with a "creepy caretaker" named Vaneé (Tony Hale), the former servant of Vader. He shows Sith artifacts to a group that includes Poe, BB-8, Graballa, a boy named Dean who works as a handyman for Graballa, and a couple other employees of Graballa's. With each artifact comes a story, and... I don't want to spoil any of them. They're not really terrifying, but at least they're fairly interesting and amusing. And it all leads up to Vaneé uniting the artifacts to try to become the newest scourge of the galaxy. And I did find his army of zombielike battle droids kind of scary. Anyway, the special has some nice touches, like shout-outs to various scary movies as well as "The Twilight Zone". And I don't know what else to tell you, I just liked it.
