Ok, the basic altar setting goes something like this. But these are not the only ways to put the tools on the altar. Basically the Goddess representing tools go on the left, the God ones on the right and you can put the tools that represent both in the middle. Anyway, here ya go.
You usually would have two illuminator candles at the corners of your altar. These can also be the God and Goddess candles. If so, the Goddess candle is green and goes on the left side and the God candle is red and goes on the right side. The illuminator candles are just mainly thre to give you the needed light.
Now, you have a cauldron. It represents the element of Water. It goes on the left side because it is female, but if it is too big for your altar, you can place it on the floor in the middle.
The chalice goes on the left side also. It also represents Water.
The athame and the wand can go on the right side because they represent the God.
The incense generally goes near the East to represent the element. The salt in the North, water in the West and a candle in the South.
This is
just an idea of where you could place your tools on your altar. Most preferably
would be placing them where they feel right to you. ( I think I got them
all but I feel like I'm forgetting something.....)
