One day, not unlike all the rest in grade 9, me and
"Being called the Rainbow Butt Monkeys was always an underlying joke to whatever we did. It was as though we were afraid to try something 100 per cent serious, because we would always have an out if anybody cut us up."
"I wouldn't say we're getting death-metal kind of heavy, but when we were actually making it, we thought it was lighter than Tip."
"Personally, I hate Depeche Mode."
"We've been through a lot as a band and we've been forced to find the positive in everything."
"The settings for my tone are actually pretty simple. I use a peavey 5150 and i just use the distortion that comes right from the amp. I like to have the bottom cranked and i usually turn the mids down pretty low. I find that this helps fill up a lot of space, and seeing as i play rythmn it keeps everything full. As for the weird sounds, we use a lot over different effects. The main ones are flangers, phasers, tremolo, different wah-wahs and delay/reverbs. I like to use the actual pedals because i can change the settings during the show. I'm hoping in the future we get the chance to experiment with more bizarre sounds. Hope this answered your questions. See ya."
"Well, it's kinda weird. We talked to 'em before, and were like 'we will go on first', but our fans are pretty teritorial. So when it happened, I don't know, I don't think the kids shoullda started throwing bottles, but ya know, (Serial) Joe really didn't do anything to stop it. They were calling it on, saying stuff like "I fucked all your girlfriends" and shit like that, so, I don't know..."
"Well, in America there's a band called At the Drive In. I've never seen them live, but I am like the hugest fan of them. I think they're the coolest thing."
"Umm, I love video games."
"Yeah man, I love it. I just found a cool movie called "Way of the Gun", starring that, uhhh, guy.... ya know, he is in that new movie "Snatch". Anyways, yeah, we all love movies."
"Umm, heh, I am not embarassed to say I like Destiny's Child, I love that band, they're awesome. I don't know, some Christina Agulera songs are kinda catchy (laugh), it's hard not to sing along. I don't listen to songs on the radio that much, I watch the videos."
"Ya know what? I don't know. I haven't been on the internet for quite a while, my laptop is broken, but last time I was surfing around, I really loved the Weezer site. Other than that, I really loved mulletsgalore.com, heh. That's awesome man, I love it."
from it. And I'm not trying to sound like a preaching
asshole. But take what I say seriously, don't cut
class. Now let me explain.
some friends were deciding how the day should go. Taco
Bell or drama. Now any other day I would have normally
chosen a 7-layer burrito over an improv exercise. But
for some reason I had a change of heart, I'm not sure
what it was, but it probably had something to do with
my drama teacher seeing me trying to leave the school.
Any how after sitting through a full class of drama,
weird, I was getting ready to leave and I noticed that
some one had left a tape on one of the seats. I picked
it up and read it. Pink Floyd - The Wall. My life was
about to change. I had heard of Pink Floyd from some
of my friends but never had the chance to learn it on
my own. I quickly snatched up the tape and headed off
to the forest with my walkman. What I experienced in
the next hour and a half was unlike anything that I
had heard before in my life. And when my friends got
back from Taco Bell complaining about their aching
stomachs, I somehow knew that I had gotten the better
end of the deal. So if there is a lesson in all of
this I would have to say it's that all you people
reading this should go out and buy The Wall if you
don't have it already."
