Seriously spaced out
SeriousGrandpa says:

This map is submitted by a old and frequent guest at the Seriously! forums, INTRUDER. I'm glad to see that there are more and more SS maps. I don't have SS yet(my benefit of living in Croatia :(, and can't review this map, but INTRUDER has sent me some screenshots and Caid's review of the map( I hope that Caid won't be mad at me :). So, here we go...

-SeriousGrandpa-

A few words from INTRUDER:

The screenies don't show that much of it, you really have to be floating around in it there to get the drift of it, as so to speak and with that saucer zippin all over the place and asteroids crashin into stuff and a meteor shower, its gets pretty wild in there.

-INTRUDER-

Caid's review:

WOW!

I wouldn't have ever thought it possible, but for the first time in my life i felt true hate for an object in a map! You have no idea how much I wanted to blow the shit out of that saucer =)

Props to intruder on yet another job well done. We've gone from the small scale of Sam's Club to the infinite (or so is my understanding) scale of seriously spaced out. And this map lives up to its namesake. There MUST have been some illegal substances used in the process of designing this monument to human endurance (or something). But since it'a 1:47 a.m. and I haven't gotten enough vitamins today, I'm going to start with the negatives, in brutal straight out fashion. Intruder, don't take me wrong here, you know I'd love to oil you down and… erm.. I mean you know you've got my respect.

-The planets are all the same. There definitely needs to be some variance about the planet sizes (maybe even shapes)

-Possible engine issue here: I'd love to see some more (gasp) quake style zero G maneuvering. I don't like having to press jump to go up even when I'm aiming 90

-This one's incidental, and no fault of Intruders, but given the fact that there are maybe 200 Sam players and maybe 50 servers at any given point, this map is mega big. Not saying you need to cut it down, but maybe releasing a scaled down version alongside would be better (Seriously Spaced Out: LITE)

-it took me 10 minutes to find a weapon other than gattling. This is bad -I'd like to see some gravity on the planets, so I could take a stroll along one's circumference (note, this is a personal preference thing)

NOW ON TO THE GOODS

-This map made my jaw drop. It's quite literally a first. This has NEVER been done before. Congrats!

-It's beautiful. The skybox is jaw-dropingly gorgeous, and you used it to it's full potential

-at one point, I had to ask myself (as I was traveling upwards) “Didn't this used to be down?” – Mad props

-Yeah that's right, make me SEARCH for that gren launcher =) It may seem form my writing that the lows outweigh the highs, but that's just because I'm cranky and need to be put to bed with my bottle.

8/10.

Well done! Caid of Caid's Review Service
