NEW ZEALAND
NEW ZEALAND With an area total of 268,680 sq km , New Zealand is about the size of Colorado. We have just hit 4 million in population (April 2003 est) with 88% being European and 12 % being either Maori or Polynesian. The official language of NZ is English but Maori is also spoken. The currency is the New Zealand dollar which is generally worth approx 42 cents USA and 80cents Australian Auckland, at the top of the map is New Zealands' largest city. It has a population of about 1,002,000. It is almost enclosed by water and it is covered in volcanic hills. I used to live in Palmerston North. It is known as the Knowledge city because we have many learning institutes in the city. But now I live in a tiny town called Feilding, 15 drive out of PN Two hours south of me is our Capital City WELLINGTON. Crossing over the Cook Strait we head into the South Island. There are some really scenic spots down there although I dont have any pics of my own to put in there as yet. Page five of Pictures Page six of Pictures
