I have never been sleeping in the night
my mind is filled with dreams of flight
i sit and gaze
at the stars
at their beautiful myriad maze
I ache, i long to touch the sky
I want to spread my wings and fly
To touch the stars
And be one
To drift by Mercury, Saturn and Mars
So I make Icarus' wings
I sew and weave with feathers and strings
I will touch the moon
And kiss the stars
Flip and dive while I croon
But as I pass through the atmosphere
My soul and body fills with fear
My lungs wont breath
Mortality is mine
My hope and love become cleaved
Like Icarus, I meet my doom
I just didn't think it would be so soon
And as my heart begins to slow
My Tears freeze on my face
And then my soul begins to glow
This is my fate in this life
Death has cut my thread with her scythe
My soul will become what I adore
I am the stars
In my happiness I soar
