Extra lives
On the Launch Base Zone, first act, set off the first alarm you see. A robot
will charge at you. Hold down and push 'A'. You should start to spin. The
robot will attack you. When it touches you, it will be destroyed, and
another one will take its place. The value will increase to 10,000 points
meaning for every five robots destroyed you earn another life.
Level select
I find this code quite difficult. After the "SEGA!" logo and melody
disappears, the screen should fade. In this extremely limited time, press
up, up, down, down, up and up. Put your highlight on the competition mode,
but don't access it, push down. It should bring you to a level selection.
Debug Mode
To do this code, you must have accessed the level selection code. To find
more about this code, read the previous entry. Anyway, when on the level
select mode, press start and the 'A' button at the exact same time. When
starting a level, press 'C' to create an item, 'B' to toggle, and 'A' to
select an item.
Super Sonic
To activate this code, you must have activated the Debug Mode (The previous
code above. You see how all the codes are linked together?). Create a
power-up box. This box should have an 'S' on it. Hit this box then collect
50 rings. You should become Super Sonic.
Play at night
To do this code you need to have activated level select. In the level select
menu, highlight the level of your choice and press C and start at the same
time.
Bonus Stage
To do this code, you need level select enabled. Go to the sound test menu
and play songs 01 and 0F. Highlight level 2 in level select, then hold "A"
and press start.
Sonic and Knuckles background music
In Hydrocity act 2, try to drown yourself in the water. Just before you
drown, jump out of the water. You should hear Sonic and Knuckles music
playing in the background.
