Chapter 10
Ralda rubbed the swollen spot on her head and looked ferociously at Emerald. When Blaze and Ralda found the door, they found Emerald and the others conversing quietly. Ralda had snickered and snuck up on them… nasty shock for them, but Emerald had hit Ralda hard on the head….It had hurt too.
They looked around their surroundings. They were in a green room with weird writing on the walls. There was a whole near the upper part of the roof and another doorway next to the one Ralda and Blaze had just came through.
“ I suppose this is where I come in…” Ruby said silently. Rouge nodded. “ The mainframe is heavily guarded and you may need help….I will help if you want…”
Ruby nodded her approval. Maybe that bat is not so bad after all. Ruby thought. “ Ok.” Blaze said handing Ruby a crumpled map. “ Here is the coordinates to Robotnik’s lair. I want you to find out just what it is that he is planning. Try to do what you can.”
“ Good luck!” Emerald called after them. “ Yeah, Yeah.” Rouge said shaking her hand dismissively. “ Save it for later” Ruby walked quickly ahead and soon they were enveloped in the darkness.

Ruby kneeled on a rafter panting from the brief run to the control room. Rouge was a little occupied with the robot they had run into earlier. No problem, She can handle it. Ruby thought. Rouge landed next to her. “ ‘phew’ So what’s the big deal leaving me behind?” Ruby chuckled and hushed her. They were packed in that rafter pretty close. So close that Rouge could feel Ruby’s ribs vibrate when she laughed. Rouge elbowed her politely and Ruby was a little angry.
She gave Rouge a playful shove. Rouge lost her balance and fell 30 feet to the ground. She hit the ground with a feminine groan. “ What did I do?” She was going to fly back up but the door opened behind her with a mechanical hum. She turned around and faced Shadow.
“ ‘Humph!’” She
said when she realized who it was. Shadow did not say anything and sat in
Eggman’s huge chair.
“ You never will give up will you?”
Rouge shrugged “ Give up what? I came here for one reason….”
“What’s that fool?”
“ Well,” She said putting on a sultry voice.
“ I came here for you…”
Shadow looked mildly excited. He looked around uncomfortably.
“ And….what did you want from me?”
She smiled and sat on his lap with her legs crossed and her arms around his
neck. She put her face so close that her eyelashes touched his. Shadow
groaned very uncomfortably.
“ You…want me…don’t you?”
Shadow nodded. Rouge smiled very briefly.
She leaned forward and she kissed him. Her wet lips made quite an impact on
Shadow.
He let her go on. Then, he pushed her face very hard into his own and pulled
her hair….He knew she was tricking him!
“Fool!” Shadow said pushing her to the ground. “ Did you not remember what I
said on the ark? I have no sexual desires!”
He lifted her to her feet and lead her out of the room. The last Ruby heard
of their conversation was Shadow saying: “ Eggman will be most pleased…”
Ruby waited, stunned. Then, She heard a blood curdling scream… Ruby cursed
and ran back to get the others.
