Chapter 11
“Where are they?” Blaze demanded angrily. Emerald shook her head and knuckles sighed. Ralda kept looking at the ground and shook her head. “ Ok, I am going on ahead. why don’t you guys just stay here?” Blaze crept silently against the dark hallway, until he heard a hiss. “ Come near me and you die…” Blaze giggled to himself “ Ruby, you have real anger problems.” Ruby emerged from the dark and grinned. “ Heck, at least I am secure of myself enough to show my face…dork.” She spat. “ Where is Rouge?” Ruby motioned for Blaze to hush. “ She was captured, that’s why I need your help.”
Blaze scratched the back of his head. “ Well, call the others with the walkie-talkie. I am going on ahead.” Ruby grinned. “ Playing the hero? AWWW, that is so sweet!” Ruby’s eyes filled with mock tears. “ So Blaze does care….”
“Shut up,” Blaze growled.
Ruby went from funny to serious in an instant. “ Look, just be careful, I
don’t know what he is doing to her, but I know it can not be good. Just
watch yourself, if you need help we will be around.”
Blaze nodded and Ruby winked. “ Besides, who else will I pick on?”

Blaze stepped into the core of the pyramid. Rouge was in the middle tied to
a chair, unconscious. Her stomach had a few burns and a gaping knife wound.
Blaze struggled with the rope. Rouge awoke. “ Don’t, they are going to find
you…” She wheezed.
Blaze ignored her and freed her. She stayed put. “ Don’t be a fool! Shadow
is coming for you!”
Just as she had said this, Shadow slammed into Blaze’s back knocking him to
the ground.
“ HUMPH! How weak! You used to be on our side?!”
Blaze got up slowly, adding to the drama. He took off his robe and pulled
out his spear.
“ That’s it, I am going to have to kill you now…too bad…” Blaze said.
As he said this, Emerald and the others were watching from above on the
ledge with hopeful eyes.
“ Tough guy eh? Well, too bad you won’t get to see me kill your
girlfriends.”
Blaze chuckled and leg sweepd him. Shadow leaped back on his feet and pushed
Blaze down. Shadow pulled out a gun and aimed it to Blaze’s face.
“ I don’t care if I have to fight dirty…I am going to win…”
Shadow cocked the barrel. “ Now, you die!”
Shadow crumpled to the ground at Blaze’s feet.
Blaze, completely bewildered looked up, Ruby stood there with a wide smile
on her face. “ Didn’t think I’d leave ya hear all alone did ya? Nah, I don’t
trust-“
She too crumpled to the ground. She had been shot through the back, it came
through the left shoulder. Eggman stood up in his Eggwalker. “ Fool, always
keep watch..”
Blaze kneeled next to Ruby who was pretty stunned and impressed all at the
same time.
“ God, you can never guess how much this sucks…”
“ Just stay put…your all right…”
“ Easy for you to say, your not shot are you?”
Blaze stood up. Ralda watched on in horror as she realized he was
challenging Eggman.
“Emmer… We should do something….”
Emmer looked on transfixed holding Knuckles hand. There was nothing either
could do.
