Chapter 13
Blaze stared down Robotnik who only laughed. “ You didn’t think I would actually fight you? No, not a good use of time, I have someone better that has a bone to pick with you.”
Blaze smirked. “ Who? This one?” He asked pointing to Shadow on the ground.
Rouge’s eyes were wide in terror. Ruby coughed up blood. “ No, if you must
know, his name is Golem….” Robotnik chuckled.
Suddenly, the ground began to
shake violently. A huge reptilian creature walked into the room. It had huge
claws that scraped the ground and huge teeth protruding out of its grotesque
mouth. It had ugly leather like gray skin. The creature stood up and roared
furiously. Ralda screamed. Rouge grabbed Ruby off the ground and took her to
Emmer and Knuckles and Ralda. “ oh my god oh my god oh my god…” Knuckles
said over and over.
Robotnik smiled with glee. “ Destroy this little puppy Golem…”
Golem’s face suddenly stretched, and Blaze knew it was smiling. It lifted on huge hand and slapped him causing him to slam lifeless into the wall. “ BLAZE!” Ralda screamed.
Emerald walked to the railing and watched, Blaze stirred. He got up to his feet slowly.
“ God, I can’t take much more of this.” Emerald climbed over the railing.
“ NO EMMER!” Ralda sobbed grabbing her hand trying to stop her. Emerald turned to Ralda and gave her a reassuring smile. “ No worries sis.” She winked and Knuckles joined Emmer on the rail. “ Ready?” He asked her. Emerald nodded “ As ready as I’ll ever be.” The leapt down the balcony and prepared to attack the ferocious beast.

Golem looked at all the food monsters next to him. Even though he could not make out what kind they were, he knew what gender they were. One female and two males. Golem licked his lips hungrily. The master had told him he could eat what he pleased. Golem hit the one food monster that was already almost dead. The food stayed still and did not move for a long time. The female threw a rock and hit him in the head with it. Golem turned angrily to the food. The food ran and squeaked. The red food punched Golem hard and blood came out. Golem hit food and the female said something he could not understand. The master said for Golem to finish him off, but suddenly, green light flashed and Golem was hurt, badly, then the first food with the robe stabbed Golem in the chest. Golem Stumbled forward, then backward, then forward again, then he cried out and fell to the floor.

Blaze stood watching as Emerald threw the rock and hit the monster in the head screaming, “ HEY! MORON! OVER HERE!” Golem screeched and turned to Emmer. She screamed and ran behind Knuckles. Knuckles rushed forward and punched Golem in the leg and blood gushed out staining the stone floor. Golem backhanded Knuckles and he was on the ground. “ NO! KNUCKLES!” Emerald rushed to Knuckles side.
“ Are you ok?” He smiled. “ Remember you have the emerald’s power…” He turned his head and fainted. Emerald nodded and began to pray fast to the emerald.
Suddenly, her hair on her head tingled, and she felt a burning power rip through her body. The power surged into her hands and she realized what she had to do. She shot Golem with this energy and Golem stumbled, shocked and hurt. Blaze saw his opportunity, and stabbed Golem in the chest. The monster screamed and fell to the floor.
Eggman screamed. “ NO MATTER! I STILL HAVE THE EMERALD…”
He grabbed Ruby, who was calm and sick from the wound. “ Ruby!” Blaze shouted.
Eggman smiled and pointed a gun to her head. “ Leave my base and she won’t die…”
He walked out and dragged Ruby through the halls. She stumbled once leaning on him heavily. “ Do that again and I will kill you…” He muttered coldly. Ruby groaned and Eggman turned the corner. All the fighters were in front of him, lead by Blaze.
“ Give it up Eggman, your outnumbered…”
Eggman threw Ruby to him and ran, trying not to get killed. He walked through the core looking for an exit, when he saw Golem waiting for him. Golem began to chase him hungrily.

Blaze was now holding Ruby in his arms and dropped her to her feet on the elevator. When the doors closed, he saw Eggman running from Golem screaming. The doors closed and they all heard a. “ NO! NO! NOOOOO!”
The scream went to an inhuman pitch and they heard a sickening wet crunch. Emmer grimaced, she knew Eggman was no more.

Ruby was leaning against Rouge and she heard her dull heart beat. “ Too bad about the emerald,” Someone said, she did not know who, it was all a blur. Ruby smiled to herself. “ I wish I had a breath mint…” Rouge muttered.
Ruby smiled wider. “ I wish you had a breath mint…” They all laughed and Ruby felt the Emerald tucked under her belt. She could fake a fall with the best of them. She reminded herself this all the way back home…
