Chapter 9
The van they were in before was bumping around. This time Ruby was at the wheel. Emerald sat next to Rouge who was feeling much better. “Ready?” She asked. Emerald nodded. Blaze was looking out the window. He had been very quiet lately and was very grouchy. Knuckles was sitting next to Ruby. Ralda was in the back fiddiling with her hair.
“Ok…” Rouge said. “ We need a weapon check…” Everyone pulled out a nine millimeter, except Blaze, who had a spear.
“Good. I suppose the cat will go in first…we need to have a good idea of what is ahead of us…” Ruby winked into the rearview mirror and everyone felt a little relieved.
Suddenly, the pyramid came into view. The remains of it anyway. The explosion from the last raid left half of it incinerated. “Hmp…” said Emerald as the last raid came into mind. “ Missed that place.” Every on nodded agreement as they pulled up to the entrance…

Later, in the bowels of the dark pyramid.
“Great” Ralda said darkly, immediately ignoring all of her manners in a second. “We are here…..what now?” Emerald scratched her chin and looked ahead. It was a long hallway with a few doors that looked like they would shut in case of an emergency…
Just as she thought this the doors began to squeak and started their slow descent. “Crap!” Blaze said. They began to run down the long way to the exit, until Ralda fell. “BAH!” She screamed. Blaze cursed silently and scooped her up. But it was too late.
The doors closed with a slam leaving Him and Ralda alone in the dark. Emerald turned to Rouge and Knuckles, they knew they could not get the door open. Then, out of anger Emerald hit the door stupidly, regardless that it was made of roughly cut stone. “ Damn it!” She screamed. She began to sob into the door. She knew her sister may never get out.
Blaze helped up Ralda who was also sobbing uncontrollably. “ I….don’t want to die yet….not now..” Blaze smiled “Don’t tell me….so many ice cream flavors you haven’t tried yet?” She scowled at him. “ Do not worry…I know the way out..” Blaze said giving her a reassuring smile. “ Eggman may be smart…but he added a escape hatch… I am warning you….you may get wet…

Ralda sat shivering on a piece of rotting wood that floated down the fake water. He found the escape hatch alright. When he found it all they could see was darkness. “Don’t expect me to jump down there in a hurry." She said.
Blaze smiled and pushed her in. He heard a splash and a curse. He laughed as he heard her scramble onto something. He waited a moment as she floated further on until he heard her below him…
He lept and landed on it with a splash. Now she was glaring at him.
“ Heh….still love me now?” She muttered to herself and cheered up a little. “ Why did he put water in here?” “He didn’t.” Blaze said grimly. “ This is the results from the explosion your sister was telling you about… There may be fish, snakes, and God knows what else. What we need to worry about now is finding Robotnik…”
Ralda interrupted. “ Forget him! I want to find Emerald and the others!” Blaze nodded. “ I suppose…” Ralda stopped ranting because she knew he meant well. Like he said, he does not want to worry about more then his self.
“Ok…..I guess we shall take a short cut back to the doors. They might not have gotten far. They may be still there…they don’t know the way out….” Ralda smiled. She knew it was going to work out fine. Blaze stuck his spear into the water and began to propel themselves further as a dark door began to loom from the darkness.
