I have not read any of the Stephanie Plum series, but I must say Janet Evanovich is an excellent author. Her new book, beginning a totally new series, was fantastic! It was funny, romantic, and had a strange mystery. It involved break-ins that caused German coackroaches and spiders to invade people's homes in a small neighborhood. The way she portrayed Billie Pearce as a divorced mother of two, who also teaches sixth grade, was fascinating. I've never read a book that was more inspiring then having the heroine as a divorced mother. She was wity and knew how to deal with her students, while being afraid of changes as well. The hunk in the book turns out to be two years younger than our heroine. She still finds him irresistable, but at the same time wonders if it will work due to the age difference. He's a sexy bachelor, rich, and the owner of the local newspaper. We also meet the family of Nicholas Kaharchek, a.k.a. the sexy bachlor. His crazy cousin Deedee has been through three marriages in a few years time. Then there's Max, a sixteen year old wiz, whose been blowing up things to get Nick's attention. He soon finds himself in trouble with the law when they suspect him of trying to kill Nick. Between the humor and the mystery, I couldn't put it down. There is only one word to describe this book and that is "WOW"! If you love her Stephanie Plum series, than you'll enjoy this one as well. I highly recommend this one.
