The Silver Wolf series
Author: Alice Bochardt

Alice Borchardt takes us into a fascinating world of the wolf. She
shows us what could happen if an animal became human instead of the
other way around. Mrs. Borchardt first takes us to decadent Rome
where the Dark Ages has fallen. A young woman by the name of Regeane
comes into play as she tries to escape her mother's family. They've
been holding her prisoner since her mother died, for fear of the
people finding out that she was cursed with the form of a wolf. Out
of the midst comes Maeniel, the leader of his pack who falls for her.
He does everything to find her when she disappears from his sight in
the middle of the book. Regeane falls in love with him even though
she's betrothed to a barbarian lord she's never meet. Later on, she
finds out that the man she's to be married to, is the wolf she came
to love. Finally they get married at the end after they've been
through hell and back.

In the second book, Mrs. Borchardt takes us into the past before
Regeane. She takes us back to the time of Julius Caesar. It is also
the time of Maeniel's birth from pure wolf to a shifter. He falls in
love with a woman named Imona, who in turn disappears from his sight.
He goes to find her unaware that a warrior woman was following him.
Her only thought was to kill him, following him to the gates of Rome.

The third book takes us to the future after Regeane and Maeniel's
wedding. War rages again throughout the lands of Italy. Maeniel, as a
human, sides with the armies of Charlemagne and is captured on a
mission. He is condemned to death and Regeane sets off on a dangerous
journey across the Alps to save him. However, she only finds out it
was a trap for him by a man from her past.

These books were some of the best books about history I've ever read.
They bring historical dates, romance, and mystery together for a
breathtaking ride. I highly recommend these books to anyone who
hasn't read them. Especially those who love historical novels of the
past.
