Merry Gentry, Princess Meredith's human alias, works for the Grey Detective agency located in Los Angeles, CA. She got the job by answering an add in the newpaper that contained a compulsion spell. Anyone answering it who could actually read the real phone number would be right for the job. (KOS, chp 3, pg 20)

She wears brown contacts in her human guise (KOS, chp 1, pg 3)

She hid from the Unseelie Court for 3 years in fear of her life.

She considered herself the weakest member of the Royal court even though she's one of the best at "personal glamour" or hiding her true identiy. (KOS chp 1, pg 3)

When Essus had been murdered and his body hacked into pieces, a reporter named Jenkins had sold the pictures of his butchered body as well as a picture he snapped of her at the funeral with her eyes glowing anger. She was 18 at the time and got him back by making him "see" his worst nightmares come to life, even though using magic against the media was strictly forbidden by the Queen. Merry's one-time consort for seven years while she was at court was a sidhe by the name of Griffin. When she doesn't accept him back as one of her lovers, and a spy for the queen, he sells pictures of them from when they were together to the tabloids. Nude pictures. (KOS, chp 35, pg 450)

Merry has a carved wooden box full of collected childhood memories which include: colored bird feathers, rocks that sparkled in the sun, the tiny plastic ballerinas that were on her 6th birthday cake, a dried bit of lavender, a toy cat with fake jewel eyes, and 2 silver stars of her father's that he earned in WWII as a spy.
