Sophie eyes the bowl. “Gee, the maid sure isn’t doing her job.”
“Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that, Sophie. If these people have a maid, then why are we here?”
Just then, you hear a noise to your left. You turn sharply and in the doorway is a man. He is very handsome, tall with slicked back black hair. He smiles at the two of you.
“Uh, hi.” Sophie stammers. “We’re, uh, the cleaners that were called. Um, the girl who let us in has been gone for a while so….”
“I’m so sorry. I‘m Mr. Alexander, the owner of the house.” The man’s voice is deep and rich. “Come with me.” He motions for you to follow him through the doorway he is standing by, which appears to lead into a library of some sort.
Follow him.
“I’m sorry, but we just want to leave.”
