Where the word Butterfly came from~
'Psyche,' originally the Greek
goddess symbolizing 'soul' came gradually to
mean 'butterfly.'
The soul and butterfly, when freed from the
body or chysalis in which they have been
confined on earth, rise on wing, and soar
with whispers of wings into the light.
The flame of love that often scorched the
soul became the torch that attracts the
butterfly to its doom.
When this happened, Eros turned away his face
and wept. And so Eros still weeps again and
again and again in all of us,
each time for the same reason.
And butterflies
still soar in beauty
from their prisons,
as do you from yours,
again,
again,
Again !
