This homepage is dedicated to the remembrance of my
family.
My great-grandfather George Bouhl, Sr. was born in
Kappelkinger, Loraine, France February 7, 1856, one
of a family of five children born to Nicholas and
Kathryn Bouhl. At the age of 17 he came to the
United States and stayed for five years during which
time he received his naturalization papers. He
returned to France in 1878 and married Barbara
Zeigler October 26, 1880. The following year
they returned to this country and in 1916 made their
home in Chatsworth, Illinois. Ten children were born
to George & Barbara, two of whom died in early
childhood. The surviving children were Edward, John,
George, Albert, Matilda (Walle), Anna (Walle), Ida
(Schall), and Mary (Hayes). George, Sr. died in 1931
and Barbara died in 1923.
My grandfather was John J. Bouhl who was born January
26, 1897. On January 2, 1924 he married Gladys
Gillette. They had four sons; Joseph (who was killed
in action during World War II), Keith, Kenneth, and
Gerald. John J. Bouhl died August 27, 196?. Gladys
Gillette Bouhl died in March of 1995.
My father is Keith E. Bouhl who was one of a set of
twins born in November 1925. He married Madaline K.
Jackson in 1961 and had two children with her, Helen
and Joseph born July 12, 1965. He married Margaret
Pawlowski in the late 1960's and had two more sons,
John born July 4, 1975 and Robert born November 28,
1978.
I am Helen Marie Bouhl and I was born May 24, 1963 to
Keith and Madaline Jackson Bouhl. I have one
daughter, Erin Lane Ely who was born on
February 22, 1985.
I want to continue to find family members in the
United States and go back to 1856 where everything
began with my great-grandfather and continue to
research my roots through his mother, father and
siblings. I have discovered the name Bouhl in
Germany and hope something will lead me to this
person.
I encourage anyone who thinks they may be related, to
