The Howie D Appreciation Site
Howie D. gave himself away at age three when he jumped onto his grandmother's bed and belted out his very first rendition of the old standard, "Baby Face." Today, it's really easy to pick Howie D. out of this crowd--he's the one with the high-flying falsettos. Half-Irish, half-Puerto Rican, Howie D. loves being in the group. Born in Orlando, the last of five siblings, Howie D. has sung in choir, performed in community theater (Sound Of Music, Showboat, Camelot), commercials (Disney World), a Nickelodeon pilot (Welcome Freshman), and the films Parenthood and Cop And A Half. A professionally trained dancer, Howie D. loves to take his hip-hop routines to the local clubs and also enjoys swimming, water sports and racquetball. Source: Backstreetboys.com |

At a party, you're introduced to a beautiful but boring girl and a fun but not-so-cute girl. Which one would you talk to?
"Oh wow! Hmmm… I'm gonna be more interested in the one with the better personality. I don't think there's any such thing as a truly ugly person. It's a combination of different things, and if I couldn't find someone with the right combination, maybe I'd just talk to myself!"
Is it hard to have a real relationship?
It's hard because it's not the most stable kind of life. For me, I'm keeping things casual, and not getting totally serious - I don't have enough time between my work, and I'm very family oriented - so when I have a couple days off, I want to spend it with my family. On top of that, to try to squeeze in a love life, it's kind of hard. I try to make time for everything.
Is it hard to meet women?
It's easier to meet women but I think you're always apprehensive about who you meet, because you're wondering if they're interested in who you are - there's always a little bit of a wall. But there's good and bad - I would love to meet someone, and know that she could be herself - but it takes a little bit of time to make sure the person you meet really wants to be with you. So that's one of the reasons I haven't gotten into anything serious.
