Shasta will always be a tremendous influence upon us.....and even after a few years she continues to leave a whole in our hearts!!! I am putting the Tribute I wrote for her when she died.....
Tribute To Shasta
When First I saw you and heard that no one else wanted you because of your color, began our journey you and I.
I fell in love hard and fast.
Your Father turned away refusing to acknowledge you and so began your silent war, to all of the insults you refused to hear.
You wormed your way into his heart as well!
The years went by and you taught us oh so much!
When you mourned the loss of your precious baby, you taught us that animals do indeed have a soul.....
How else could have you mourned so deeply.
In all that you did for us, I want to thank you for showing us unconditional love.
As I sit here, I cannot help wondering how a dog so small could possibly have taken up such a large protion of our hearts.
You, Shasta, were truly one of God's greatest blessing to all of us and all of the lives you touched.
Thank you Shasta for no matter how much time goes by, I want you to know how thankful we are on how you touched our hearts.
To you baby, our heart of gold.
If any one dares to ever say that you were just a dog, to us you were one of our daughters and that is how we will mourn and remember you forever!
Fly high my sweet angel and know we all thank you for all of the things that you taught to us.
Our almighty defender of the universe, our foot warmer,
our baby alarm system, and oh so many things this papaer cannot possibly explain to any, all that you meant to us nor the huge void that we are left with.
We love you baby!

Reading back thru this still brings tears to my eyes....but this girl is what truly got us into the breeding of the colored poms.....I still think it such a shame that the colors are so hard to find in so many areas :) We should all be proud that our wonderful breed comes in such an assortment of colors. You cannot beat their dispostions and think I could never be without one to love :) So when anyone asks me why I am breeding it is her image that I see, it is her that haunts me with her crazy antics.....
Love Kat
Here she is at 8 weeks and I have been searching for this same coloring since. She will leave a space in my heart for all times.
Here is Shasta with Tawny at 6 weeks old. She was our pride and joy already then :)
