Undress the Day

I undress the day
Undo the shell buttons
One by one down the front
Of her morning blush blouse

She smiles down at me
Unsure of this newness
As I slowly reveal
More and more

I undress the day
Shredding the woolen sock
From each afternoon foot
White and soft ivory

She is shy
This newly matured day
The sunlight colors yet her skin
The spring wind kisses her hair

I embrace the day
Pulling her with me into
Soft dark sheets of night
To sleep, to sleep.
