At the age of eight ,she tried out for a spot on The Mickey Mouse Club in Atlanta . At that time she was too young for the show, but the producer of MMC helped find her an agent in New York City. She then spent the next three summers studying at the Professional Performing Arts School and at a renown off-broadway organization. She then began appearing in commercials and an off-Broadway show called "Ruthless". She did "Ruthless" for eight months and then auditioned for MMC again.
At age 11 Britney was finally old enough to land a spot on the show. After two years of successfully performing on the show, she returned to Kentwood. She did various commercials, such as Maul's Barbeque Sauce, Bell South and Days Inn.
So she returned to New York to achieve her goal of becoming a singer. She landed a spot in an all-girl group known as Innosense. Britney then decided that she wanted to develop a solo career as a pop singer.
One of Jive's senior VPs listened to Britney's voice and loved it. He immediately signed her to a developmental deal and put her in the studio. The rest is history in the making and the rise of Britney Jeau Spears.
