DEDICATED TO FREEDOM
A Veteran's Day Salute
November 12, 2001
Dedicated to the memory of my father, WALTER ROSCOE ("BOSCOE") EDDY who served under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. And also in remembrance to the innocent citizens, and brave fireman who gave their lives in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
A Daughter's Plea!
Oh Washington, Washington....
What have we done to deserve this one
Our country's great by no mistake
But now you have a great debate
We were at peace, high price we paid
Our children's lives, our blood we trade
Our liberty stands proud and brave
She lights our paths, her torch she waves
Now lives again are once at stake
Your beck and call our husband's take
For what you say, I must agree
Our way of life, our liberty
It all we leave for you to bear;
You and Congress decisions share
Our men are armed with precision care
Our missles ready if we dare
We need war for economy? For this I say I must agree
We have before to great degree
Our heads say yes; our hearts say no
Our childrens leave; our sweethearts go
In God we trust, but you we need
Our souls above, on earth you lead
I am but one, but still, I'm one
If I am called, to you I'll come
I owe you what I am today
With pride I'll die, to all dismay
Our country teeters. Yes, our Great Land
To you we leave, in able hands
To God we pray by night and day
For Freedom's sake, do not betray
To you we owe our liberty
To Him bestow our justice seek
For this I know; I must be true:
The Red, the White, the Royal Blue
For this we stand, our heart in hand
Alligience seek; United stand
Conservative, some say. For those I pray
"Make love not war" backbone astray
Our Children; our Future, we place in your hands
For so many gave lives defending our land
So to you, Mr. President, I stand and salute
In father's memory, I'll be always true
