The Nakamichi 1000ZXL Computing Cassette Deck is a very special analog recording/playback component, indeed!!! Preceding the ZXL deck was the granddaddy Nak 1000 cassette deck . Prototypes of the 1000 deck were unveiled in 1973, and a glimpse of this phenomenal and advanced design was portrayed in an article expose printed in Oui Magazine during that year. Really outtasight article and photos in that oldie issue of Oui Magazine, touting the coming cassette deck offerings of Nakamichi Research of Japan. Alas, this article has been exceptionally rare to hold, sought by many aficionados of Nakamichi gear, without success.
