Sarah Michelle Gellar was born in New York City on April 14, 1977.
She stars as Buffy Summers in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the show that has made her famous as the butt kicking vampire slayer. Having such a demanding character to play, a lot of skill has to be employed and this is one area of expertise Sarah definitely isn't lacking in. Her training over the years includes gymnastics, boxing, kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do (brown belt), and streetfighting. Sarah is not someone that you should mess with!
The Manhattan native has been in the show business for 18 of her 22 years so she's no stranger to the camera. At the age of 4 the tiny Sarah appeared in many ads for Burger King.
In the years following her Burger King days, Sarah has acquired a long list of credits. TV appearances include: The Guiding Light, General Hospital, Spencer: For Hire, Girl Talk, Crossbow, Love Sidney, Swans Crossing and All My Children, in which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress at the age of 15. She has also appeared in movies such as An Invasion of Privacy, Over the Brooklyn Bridge, Funny Farm, High Stakes, A Woman Named Jackie, and more recently in Beverly Hills Family Robinson, I Know What You Did Last Summer, winning herself a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actress in the Horror Category, Scream 2, Small Soldiers (she lent her voice to a bimbo doll), Cruel Inventions and Simply Irresistable. If this isn't enough, Sarah has also appeared in the following theatre productions: The Widow Claire, and Jake's Women.
Sarah also has two pets. A rabbit by the name of Harley Davidson, and Thor her maltese terrier who appeared in an article with his owner for Animal Planet, of which Sarah hosted the event.
