Summary-
Adam lay with Eve and gave birth
to their first child, Cain. Then Adam and Eve lay again and gave birth to Abel. As they
grew up Abel worked with their flocks and Cain worked the fields. Cain brought an
offering of fruit to the lord, and Abel brought some of his flock. The first problem is that they weren't suppose to eat animals, even the carnivore animals were to eat plants for a short time; was Cain just killing the sheeps for their wool?
When they brought the offering of food and wool, God liked Abel’s offering more. Cain was mad, so one day Cain invited Abel to go into the field with him. Cain
killed Abel. Then God found out so he cursed Cain to wander the Earth restlessly. If
anyone kills Cain they will suffer 7 fold the pain Cain does. Cain runs away to the land of Nod, east of Eden. Cain built a city which he named after his first child, Enoch. Enoch had Irad, who had Mehujael, who bore Methushael. Methushael then had Lamech. Lamech
had two wives, Adah and Zillah. Lamech and Zillah had Tubal-Cain. Lamech killed
someone for injuring him, so Lamech is cursed 77 fold. Again Adam had a child with Eve,
this one they named Seth. At the very end of the 4th chapter it says that man
is just starting to believe in God.
