God shows favor upon Abram and tells him to leave his family and seek a different country. He left at the ripe traveling age of 75 with his nephew Lot and his wife Saria. The reached Canaan, which were inhabited by the Canaanites, the lord granted Abram's family to live here.
Abram left Canaan because of a famine and went to Egypt. Abram told his wife to say that she was his sister because she was beautiful and the Egyptians would kill Abram because of that. First of all God commands Abram to leave his country, family, friends, and everything else. This is fairly mean. Would you like it if God told you to go to a new land, leaving behind everything you love? Next God gives the land of Canaan to Abram, but there were already people living there! Would you like it if the government takes your land away and gives it to someone else? The last thing which God did is inflict Pharaoh with disease just because Abram lied. If Abram didn't lie none of this would happened. God should have inflicted Abram with disease.
