God is happy with Noah and his sons, so he blesses them. Now God is going to make every beast on Earth fear them. God also gives all the animals and everything to them. Then God tells them not to eat meat with blood still in it. God wants an accounting for every animal and man. God says "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man." Then God said be fruitful and increase in number. God establish his covenant in Noah and all his descenndants.
God says "Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the Earth." Then comes the first rainbow, as a sign of God's covenant with Noah.Atheist-
The first thing in this chapter that is wrong is that God makes the beasts fear Noah, which is not true today if you see animals bite humans; not even animals can obey God. God is basicly making all of the animals the "slaves" of humans, just like other humans and women. After this he tells man not to kill people or he/she will be also killed. This is one of the most fundamental christian morals, two wrongs don't make a right.
He also tells humans another important thing: To increase in number. This was the first problem of man which God didn't like; ultimatly ending in the flood waters coming and killing all but Noah. When the masses increase there is more of a chance to have evil appear. It is almost like saying, "Okay mortals lets have you all increase in population so I can kill you all again and start over"!
The next thing which was said really makes a difference to me because I am so very much scientificly orientated. "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." I wonder if anyone knows how rainbows are formed? I'll tell you: They are formed from the light reflecting off of water drops. How was this the first time that water drops lets fell from the sky? I'm sure it happened other times because the floods came from rain falling. A rainbow would have to be formed before this, unless God altered the process of physics (optics) until Noah's Flood. I cannot, in anyway, believe that this was the case. Please e-mail and tell me what really happened, keeping it scientific of course because that is what the world is filled with.
