The Noble Connection

According to an Obit of the Lafayette Morning Journal Dated Monday, Dec 9, 1907:"David W. Noble Died at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the Home Hospital from a complication of diseases. He was 59 years old and leaves a widow and eight children. The remains were taken to the Evans-Scheffee establishment to be prepared for burial and the funeral will be held at Colburn, the scene of his boyhood, this afternoon at 2 o'clock. David Noble was employed for years in different capacities on the street railway. He acted as driver when the cars were drawn by mules and after the introduction of electricity, served both as motorman and conductor. He left the employ of the company in 1895 and spent much of his time on the river from that time until his health became broken and we was compelled to go to the hospital. He had many excellent traits of character and was well liked by all who knew him." 

More about David Noble:   George Wesley Noble (father of David Noble) was born about 1794 in Maryland, and died July 12, 1865 in Lafayette,Indiana. Noble, b 1840; m James Storm.   John W. Noble, b September 14, 1842, Indiana?; d. May 1928, Lafayette, Indiana.  David W. Noble, b. October 13, 1849, Upper Alloway Creek, Salem Co.,New Jersey; d. December 07, 1907, Madison Twp, Carroll Co., Indiana.  He married (1) Martha E. Anderson April 12, 1874 in Indiana.  He married (2) Ida Fagin October 10, 1889 in ???.   Julia E. Noble, b. March 18, 1839, Salisbury, Wicomico Co., MD; d. May 12, 1912, Fairfield, Twp.N.J.

Noble, b. about 1875, Indiana d January 15, 1962, Shadeland, Indiana; m Cora Thorpe, February 20, 1917, Tippecanoe, County Indiana.  Ira E. Noble, b about 1877, Indiana.  Carrie Emma Noble, b June 09, 1861, Indiana; d January 29, 1922, West Lafayette, Indiana; m John R. Wood, May 06, 1896, Indiana. David Noble, b July 1890, LaFayette, Indiana; d January 11, 1891, LaFayette, Indiana cause of death is listed as infant lung trouble.  Maude M. Noble, b 1895, Lafayette, Indiana; m Roy C. Keister, January 02, 1917, Indiana. Adeline Noble, b 1897, West Lafayette, Indiana.  Bertha Noble, b February 1892.  Pearl Noble, d Buck Creek, Indiana; m. Otis Lyons, April 27, 1904, Tippecanoe, Co., Indiana.  Eugene E. NobleLeroy Noble, b about 1878; d January 15, 1916, Colburn, Indiana.  Leroy was a veteran of Spanish American War and member of the Charles E. Werkhoff camp of the Spanish-American War Veterans.  His cause of death is listed as tuberculosis and heart trouble.
