done around 1992(?): e very first!! design traced from papercut in a SIA Chinese New Year corporate greeting card from my dad's friend working in China perfecting e technique of cutting using cuticle scissors instead of penknives or cutting blades....moved on to doing traditional designs painstakingly traced from Chinese storybook illustrations - spent hours in National Library @ Stamford hunting down these books while in lower secondary; almost all of such designs have been given away, think this is e only piece left done around 1993: with cuticle scissors & needle, could cut much finer details. over e years have broken at least 4 pairs of cuticle scissors. started doing own designs, inspired by lotus flowers, leaves & pods

done on 310197: just had to do something to distract myself from e academic boredom of JC2

found my inspiration again on moving into KE7 hall; this period of time in between Altius 98/99 orientation & start of hall ECAs was e most productive - was designing & making e above papercuts & hanging mobiles around e clock for days. those who've been past B309 may recognise these survivors stuck on my room door - a few earlier pieces were stolen.

done for my mother's birthday

completed day before 21st birthday with leftover gold-coloured paper used for e piece done for my mother's birthday

done in uni year 3: e circle (sun? moon?) rises from left to middle to right panel
some years ago, started making '3D' papercuts. started off with cubes (this blue box was e first), & then pyramids (less cutting involved, easier to finish in time when making birthday gifts). would seal paper stars in them. as usual all e nicer stuff has been given away to friends. e kusudama origami ball has nothing to do with papercuts but I'll just let it stay here for e time being =)
