Solitude; Conquering Fear
The key words around our Bilby card are Solitude; Conquering Fear; Look closely; Courage; Strength and Face fears. We have chosen the Lesser Bilby to be highlighted on this card but this wisdom is for all Bilby’s not just the Lessor Bilby.
Bilby is Australia’s answer to the Easter Bunny and is card number 21 in the deck. Being 21 this brings in the vibration of the numerology number 3. The Number Three sees the beauty and envisions the possibilities around us. Three is the trine number – as above, so below and within – think, say, and act – Feel, see & hear - Creative power; growth. Three is a moving forward of energy, overcoming duality, expression, manifestation and synthesis. Three is the first number to which the meaning "all" was given. It is The Triad, being the number of the whole as it contains the beginning, middle and an end. The power of three is universal and is the tripartide nature of the world as heaven, earth, and waters. It is human as body, soul and spirit. Notice the distinction that soul and spirit are not the same. They are not. Three is birth, life, and death. It is the beginning, middle and end.
Three is a complete cycle unto itself. It is past, present, future.
The symbol of three is the triangle. Three interwoven circles or triangles can represent the indissoluble unity of the three persons of the trinity. Others symbols using three are: trident, thunderbolt, and trigrams.
The astral or emotional body stays connected to the physically body for three days after death. There is scientific evidence that the brain, even when all other systems are failing takes three days to register complete shutdown. There are 3 phases to the moon. Lunar animals are often depicted as 3 legged. Three is the heavenly number, representing soul, as four represents body.
Together the two equal seven (3+4=7 ) and form the sacred hebdomad. The 3x4=12 representing the signs of the Zodiac and months of the year. Pythagorean three means completion.
If your PERSONAL YEAR is ‘Three’ then this is a SOCIAL YEAR. Lots of friends...old and new. Often filled with Social Activities. If you are creative you can shine. Seek all forms of self-expression.....Acting, teaching, lecturing, music, art. You can find romance. Go to school. Plan the career you think will fulfil your greatest ambitions, talents and dreams.
Our Bilby is depicted encircled in a cobalt blue sphere of colour surrounded by a sea of yellow with a scattering of stars on his right and left.
The cobalt blue surrounds Bilby for protection to bring the added message that there is no need for fear and you can conquer your fears by facing up to them now. If you look closely you will see there is no need for the fears from the past or the fears about the future. Bilby reminds you that it is a complete cycle. The surrounding yellow reminds you to look to your 3rd Chakra, your seat of your empowerment. This is also were you store your emotional issues. By working with the colour yellow you can begin to release the past issues that may be holding you back. The Rune symbol depicted on Bilby is the Rune Eihwaz for Energy & Motivation and Defence. This rune brings patience and confidence for you when you are faced with an obstacle. Sometimes you will find that a delay proves to be more beneficial than hasty action on your part.
The Crystal of Bilby is Variscite – Variscite is a soft green colour to bring in unconditional love and strength with gentleness into your life.
The Medicine
The medicine of Billby is Solitude and Conquering Fear. Billby is always on the alert to danger. He is frightened of the “what ifs and maybes” in life. But if he only stopped and looked intently he would see that those “what ifs and maybes” were not as terrifying as he thought. The Billy will mark out his territory saying “Hey don’t you come any closer, I’m safe in here, don’t you cause any waves. It’s too scary. Leave me in my solitude”.

The Message
If Billy has darted into your life, you are being asked by ‘Spirit’ to confront your fears. Take a close look, examine them, find out why you are afraid and ask yourself, “Do I really need to be afraid of this situation, or is this just a fear that I have created to keep me from advancing on my path”. Be careful that you are not your own worst enemy today!
