Greg was walking home from work on the 4th of may when a car, the did not see him, hit him. He had serious head injuries and was unconcious. At impact his heart had stopped but the meds were able to get it going again. He was brought to the hospital in Marinette and then flown to Green Bay. There after 4 hours he was pronounced brain dead.
In the days before...
I had just recently gotten close to my cousin. He was only a month younger than me and we hadn't ever really talked to one another. In december of 2000 we bagan talking and i convinced him to come to green bay to visit with me and my friends for the weekend.
Beth and I drove up to Marinette, picked him up, went to McDonald's and came to Green Bay. I cut his hair, or at least tried to, when we got back to green bay. I remember the ring beth was wearing, I had just given it to her and it says "I love you" when you open it up. She had lost a piece of it and left it on the table. From there it has never moved since the day greg left my house 3 days later.
Greg liked beth a lot but from beths point of view, he was awesome but long distance wouldnt work. When beth didnt have a date for the upcoming school dance, greg said he would go with her, although he lives more than 60 miles away.
when greg was here in green bay with me the only thing he wanted to do was talk to beth. It made him happy. And it made me happy that he was ok with being in green bay with his boring cousin.
