Class Definitions:
Class A
- An unlimited time station that operates on a clear channel. Operating
power cannot be less then 10kw or more then 50kw.
Class B
- An unlimited time station that operates with a minimum power of
250 watts, and a maximum power of 50kw. If the station is authorized to
operate in the expanded band (1610 to 1700) the maximum power is 10kw.
Class C
- An unlimited time station that operates on a local channel. The
power cannot be lower then 250 watts or more then 1kw. Stations that are
licensed to operate at 100 watts my continue to operate as licensed.
Class D
- A station that operates either daytime, limited time, or unlimited
time with a nighttime power less then 250 watts. A Class D station operates
with daytime power no less then 250 watts or more then 50kw. NOTE:
If a station is an existing daytime-only station its class is D. |
