Noone had the chance to say goodbye,

A fine Daytona afternoon, the season just begun
I probably could have Won the thing but something held
me back
I was looking towards the front and not really the
rear
I thought it might be Sterling. I knew that he was
near by
I slipped a bit and turned the wheel, I sensed
something odd "Not now" I said, I'm racing hard theres still work to
do!
I wasn't really ready but I didnt have a choice
Though I did as he instructed, I just packed it in and
left
Did you see the birds upon the wall as they scattered
in the breeze?
It was Davey, Neil, Dad and I and other guys I've
known
Congratulations Mikey, you ran a worthy run.
All the fun you had in Victory lane, I was proud as I
could be.
Friends, fans and family, don't mourn me for to long

My boy's were running 1 and 2 and I was having fun
I was busy watching Dale Jr and Mike and holding off
the pack.
Something tapped me on the bumper, but still I had no
fear
When Sterling smells the checkered flag he's
definitley not shy
It wasn't Sterlings tap I felt, It was the tap of God
"Your time is up." he whispered "So say a quick
