Technology I is a broad-based course that is delivered in a lecture/discussion and activity based format. It covers a wide range of technological concepts along with familiar examples of how technology impacts our lives as individuals, a society and a global community. This is an exploratory class and thus a wide array of material is at our disposal.

Course Objectives

Materials: Three ring binder,calculator, paper and pen or pencil. Materials will be provided by the instructor. Failure to bring these materials will result in a grade reduction at the end of the quarter.

Grade Summary:

93 - 100 A

85 - 92 B

77 - 84 C

70 - 76 D

Below 70 F

Classroom Rules:

1). Respect other people and their property as well as the property of the

school(book, tools, etc).

2). Follow Directions.

3). No foul language. Foul words will result in automatic detentions

4). Raise your hand when you want to speak.

5). No food or drink in either the computer lab or the shop area.

6). Obey the operating rules of each machine. Subsequent punishments for

violation of rules may result in detentions, suspension of shop time and as a

result, a failing grade. This is by your choice, not mine, as we have a great

deal to do.

III. Log Book/Paperwork

A. Each Person is responsible for a day

B. Extra credit is offered to those who improve each part to make the work

great

IV. Power Train

A. Determine how we’re going to power vehicle

B. Determine parts to be used

V. Braking System

A. Determine the type of brake to be used

VI. Steering System

A. Configure the steering system

VII. Safety Items

A. Get all items and make sure that we’re are to guidelines

VIII. Performance Tests

A. Test the car under the tests asked for by Stout
