ORIGIN & HISTORY
Jonathon Crane grew up a very unhappy child, always being made fun of and harassed by bullies. Due to his gangly build and passion for books, Jonathon was an outcast all through his school years. After graduation he went to college and became a professor of psychology at Gotham University. During his studies, Crane became increasingly obsessed with fear. Crane's obession with human fear and inspiring terror eventually caused the board of directors to kick him out of Gotham U. Crane became very embittered and turned to crime. He assumed the name "Scarecrow", and used chemical toxins to strike fear into his victims.
