Authors Note: I would like to thank Jocy (you deserve it and see? I spelled it right this time. Hehe. Oh and I'M going to win. ) for the help she's given me in about every area with this story and Erin for being my critic. I'm taking a different direction than i originally thought I would. So if anything in this or future parts don't mesh with the first part please just go along with it. I had originally had it set 6 years after graduation but now its about 6 years after Jo and Pacey broke up which would have been midway through collage.

"Joey, This is the hardest thing of my life but I need to say it. We're going out because the loves of our lives ran off. Together never the less and we're rebounding. I dont think we should keep going out."

"Pacey, no, Pacey, please."

"Jo. Look we're going to college and we are in a rebound relationship. This will not work. I'm breaking up with you now because I think it will be easier then when you and I are at college and we'll end up breaking up because someone else has entered the picture. Just remember Josephine you will always be my rose. I've got to go now. I love You always."

"Pacey?"

Pacey turns around and looks back. Joey hesitates but doesn't say anything.

"Good bye Josephine."

"Bite me Pacey." Joey glared at Pacey. Was that all she was to him? A rebound? Figures. It fucking figures that the one person in the world that she trusted and cared for wouldn't recipricate her feelings.

Pacey turns on his heel and walks sharply away. Pacey nodded sadly at her and whispered more to himself than to anyone "I love you always" he walked back to his truck, forcing himself never to look back. Joey waits untill all thats left of the man shes only ever really loved is just a dot on the horizion:
I love you more than you could imagine Pace. Good bye my love. It was then and only then that she allowed herself to let loose the tears that were burning in her eyes. Crying was a sign of weekness and she would make sure that she would never be weak around Pacey Witter again.

Looking back Joey wishes that she would have kept in contact with Pacey after that night. But being the stubborn woman that she is she wouldn't even talk to her friends about her past; knowing that she couldn't talk about it withough bringing up Pacey.

Present:
Barely having time to drop off her bags and change out of her traveling clothes. the phone rings. She desides to let the machine pick it up.

"Hey Josephine, I know you're probably on your way home now but I have your big break right now. All you need to do is sign the papers. Give me a call when you get home and we can set up a date ASAP. Choi."

"Gosh Chad whats my big break now? You said that about my soap part. Maybe I should go through with my idea to get a new agent."

Jo picks up the phone and calls Chad back.

"Hey Chad. What my "big break" this time?"

Ooo still sore that the soap part didn't make it like you hoped? Well guess what?!? I just got a call from a casting director in the states and he said that the lead actress in a new movie but an academy award winning director up and left the part cuz of some weird reason. But anyway he called and wants you for the replacement!! I'm telling you this is your BIG break!!"

"Woa Chad...slow down. So this guy wants me in his movie cuz the first actress up and left?"

"The director just called his casting director today and said to get him a new lead actress. So he called me 'cause he knows that I was looking for a movie part for you , and besides that he and I go way back."

"So now who is the director?"

"His name is Josh Jackson and he won the AA for best new director last year."

"So now what do I have to do to get the job??"

"When can you come down to the office?"

"Right now? Is that okay?"

"Yup. You can sign the papers and I can fax them to Jax. Then you can fly back to the states to start filming in two days."

"Two days? I think I can handle that. I'll see you in a little bit."

"Alright then. See ya."

"Bye"

Pacey is on the phone with Jax:

"So, Jax, did you get me a new actress?"

"Yep. She might have an accent though. She has been living in Australia for the past six years but before she lived in the states."

"I dont have a problem with that. What's her name?"

"Her name is..."

"Hold on Jax, I have another call."

Pacey takes the call and returns to Jax.

"Jax I got to go. Something on the set has gone haywire. Something with the lighting people."

"Alright. Talk to you later. Oh and Pace? She should be here in two days."

"Okay. Um Why dont you go pick her up 'cause I can't leave the set."

"Alright man. "

"Cool. Bye."

Two days later at the airport:

"Flight 262 from Sydney, Australia now docking at gate 23. Flight 262 now docking at gate 23."

Joey stepped off the plane for what seemed like that millionth time in three weeks. She was starting to know the flight attendants on a first name basis. Shuteling between countries was starting to take permant toll on her body.

"And I used to think high school moved fast," she thought.

She continued to look around for the casting director who was suppose to pick her up. She kind of knew what he looked like from the hazy picture he faxed over after he got her papers. All that she remember was that he was of medium height and had a Marine type hair cut. Oh and that his name was Jax. Finally she spotted him from across the room.

"Jax, Its nice to meet you. I'm--"

"Yes I know you're Josephine Potter. We have to hurry Josh was expecting us over an hour ago. You never can rely on planes to get you where you need to be on time. Lets go!"

"Alright but you are forgetting we need to get my bags. I am here for an infinate amount of time ya know."

"Oh yea I know. Where the hell is the baggage claim? We really need to get going."

"Okay. Baggage claim is this way. Now since we will be here for a while, do you want to tell me why the first actress up and left?"

"I guess we can slow down. Wow you are prettier then your picture. You got a significant other? Oh I'm sorry. I can have no tact sometimes."

"Thats okay I'm used to it. But are you going to tell me what happened?"

"Yes. Well Tanya left because of some confilct with the director, Josh."

"Yes I know hes the director. But please continue."

"There were rumors around the set that she and Josh were involved but neither would confirm it. If you want my oppionon Tanya only wanted Josh 'cause she thought he could further her career. But then a better part came up that I guess she thought could make her a better known actress so she left."

"So obviously this chic is umm a Bitch?"

"Yea I guess you could say that."

By this time Joey had gotten her bage and they were on their way to Jax's car.

"So Josephine, You never answered my question about having a boyfriend. I'm sorry but if you want I could take you out sometime. Maybe tonight?" Jax asked hopefully.

Joey smilied. Flattered that he was hitting on her. "Accually Jax I'd like that. I haven't really gone on a nice date in about a year. Work has kept me so busy."

"Good. We'll go to L'Orangerie. I've heard its suppose to be a great french restuante."

"Mmm sounds good to me."

"I'll pick you up around 7:30 at your hotel. Is that okay?"

"Thats fine. Do you know where I'm staying?"

"I think so. You're at the 7-star Suites Hotel right?"

"Yep. Hey aren't we here?"

"Where? Oh at the filming site? Yep this is it. Josh it around here somewhere probably in his trailer worrying his ass off about what happened to us. Knowing him he's probably thinking the worst too."

"Oh and the worst would be...?"

"That you and I liked each other so much that we ran off to be eloped and we aren't coming back untill next year this time."

Joey smiled.

"Well Jax, are you going to take me in to see Josh or are you going to let me walk in there by myself and make a total fool out of myself?"

"I was going for the fool but no, I'll walk you in."

"Thank you very much. Lets go."

Jax opened Joey's door and took her arm. Just before Jax opened Pacey's trailer door, the door swung open.

"What the hell to you so long to get here Jax?"

Joey looked up at Pacey for the first time.

"Pacey?!"

"Joey?!"

All feelings from the past flew out of Pacey's head. He was just estatic to see his long time friend/love. He embraced Jo in a hug. Joey wondered how he could just forget what had happened. But she too soon forgot as she remembered how good it felt to be inside his arms and how good he smelled.

"Jax how did you know that Joey and I go way back?"

"Way way back." added Joey.

"Well I..." stutered Jax, not knowing what was going on. He gathered that these two friends had lost contact and had been surprised by the other.

"I'm sorry to break up the happy reunion but I really should be going."

"Oh alright Jax. See you later."

"Hey Josephine are we still on for tonight?"

"Oh yea. I'm not one to break dates."

"Okay. See y ou tonight."

"Alright. Bye Jax."

"Bye guys."

As Jax was leaving he noticed Pacey's arm was still around Joey's waist. "If Josh is always around then I can forget my chance with Josephine," thought Jax glummly.
