Dogg Biography

The Road Dogg has been one of my favor wrestlers since he returned to the
WWF in October of 1996. Back then he was known as The REAL Double J. At the
time his fans were few and far between but I was one of them. The singing
gimick worked for awhile, but then Jesse hardly ever made any appearances on
television. HE would occasionally have a match on Superstars of Raw.
He didn't really start to see TV air time until he joined up with Billy
Gunn on Shotgun Saturday Night, in October of 1997. The duo was official the
following Monday on Raw when they teamed up for a match.
The duo of Double J and Rock-A-Billy was far from a Hit when the group
first formed. Chorus's of boos could be heard from the crowd.
In late November of 97 The New Age Outlaws, as they were now called, upset
the Legion of Doom to become WWF Tag Team Champions. They held the titles
through many defenses until March of 1998, when the duo lost the belts to
Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie in a Dumpster Match at Wrestle Mania. Don't
worry though, the Outlaws always have a plan. The following night on Raw,
the Outlaws demanded a rematch claiming the wrong dumpster was used during
the match. They were given their rematch and reclaimed the gold.
That same night the Outlaws joined the Outlaw group DX. Soon after they
joined the reaction of the crowds began to change. Triple H, X-Pac, Chyna,
Billy, and Road Dogg would become one of the stringest forces in the WWF.
DX became an instant success with their childish like antics and hillarious
interviews.
DX had numerous fueds through out the time they were together. Some well
known one were the fueds with the Nation, The Coperation, and many others.
Members of both teams often fought each other in singles matches or Tag team
matches.
Eventually DX started to fall apart as did the New Age Outlaws. At
Wrestle Mania XV both Chyna and Triple H turned their backs on DX, turned
their backs on their friends. Shortly after Triple H and Chyna left the
group Billy followed. Leaving DX With two members Road Dogg and X-Pac. But
Road Dogg and X-Pac are DX because of what it means inside, Pride. The
others were in DX for the money.
Maybe Billy's anger towards James began due to Jesse's success on his
own. In December of 98 Jesse defeated the Big Bossman for the Hardcore
Championship. To this day he was the most dedicated Hardcore Champ and some
would say the best. He had a good run as champ but in February of 99 he
forfeited the belt due to personal problems.
Once he returned to the ring he got a shot at the WWF Championship.
Although he failed against the Rock it was still something Bily hadn't
had the chance to do.
However Jesse didn't fail against Val Venis for the Intercontinental
Title. On March 15th he won the belt from Venis. Although his reign as
Champ was short he did succesfully defend the belt at Wrestle Mania
against, Ken Shamrock, Goldust, and Val Venis. He eventually lost the
belt to Goldust.
Since Jesse's reign as IC Champ, DX has come back together and appears
to be breaking down again. Road Dogg joined back with Billy Gunn, and became
4 time Tag Champs, and the two realigned themselves with Triple H & X-Pac.
But now it appears as DX is once again falling apart. It has been rumored that
Jesse could make a run for the IC belt, and the Outlaws face the Acolytes for
the Tag Belts at the Royal Rumble. Will Jesse leave DX? Only time will tell.

   And the saga continues.......
