The Secret Path...
...is not so secret anymore since my favorite SB News Press Correspondent Sally Cappone wrote about it in the Nov. 1st Life Addition of the paper.
The very next day I went to look at the tiny trail and found it fascinating.
Enough so, that I devoted a page to it.

This is the entrance to the path.
It is just one block long, from Padre Street to Plaza Rubio.
At the north end you find a fountain and a rose garden.
This tiny trail is virtually unknown to the public.
Nobody, with the exception of the immediate neighbors ever uses it.
I went there right after I read Sally Cappon's article and found it very charming.
Walking through an array of foliage and beautiful flowers
that covers the pathway, was a great experience.
According to the News Press article,
I was walking on a preserved section of an old Chumash trail.
At the end of the trail you see the SB Mission the distance.
If you look at the north entrance of the trail
from the fountain in the A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden across the street,
you would never guess that this is a public path.
It looks more like it belongs to one of the bordering houses.
The A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden.
Santa Barbara Rose Society members do weekly volunteer work
taking care of the rose beds.
