I believe that my earliest known Arant ancestor was Philip Arant born in South Carolina. Philip's wife was named Jane ????. Philip and Jane Arant had at least five Children. One of the Children was a son named Redic Arant who was also born in South Carolina. Redic married Catherine Shanks and they lived in Lowndes County, Alabama. Redic and Catherine had at least six children. One of them being Thomas W. Arant. Thomas W. Arant was born in South Carolina in 1856.
He was married to Lilla Collins (1862-1913). Thomas is buried in Greenville, Alabama. Lilla is buried in Macedonia Cemetary in Lowndes County Alabama.
