Name: Lawrence (Larry) Mullen Jr.

Born: October 31, 1961 in Dublin, Ireland

Family: Girlfriend Ann Acheson who has lived with Larry for over 10 years, and have been together since high school. Son Aaron Elvis (born October 4, 1995) and daughter Ava (1998). Parents Maureen (died in a car accident) and Larry Sr. Sisters Cecelia (born in 1957) and Mary (born in 64, but she died in 1973).

Lawrence Mullen (later Jnr.) was born in Artane Dublin on October 31st 1962 to Lawrence and Maureen Mullen. He has two sisters, Cecelia born 1957 and Mary born 1964. Larry had a tragic childhood, losing his sister Mary in 1973 and then his mother in a car crash in 1977. When his mother died he wanted to leave his friends and even the band. Later Bono talked him out of it.

He went to Mount Temple high school, and for awhile was a member of a local marching band – playing drums, but was kicked out. Larry decided to start up a band of his own. He put up a small note on the school notice board asking anyone interested to meet at his house.

Good looking from an early age, girls chased him everywhere he went much to his embarrassment. He had to turn the hose on a group of girls who were trying to peek in the kitchen window at that first band meeting so they would go away.

Larry had to add a "Jnr" to his name when his father started recieving his tax bills!

Larry isn't married, but has been seriously involved with high school sweetheart Ann Acheson, who he lives with and has known since his early days at Mount Temple.

Larry is the quietest and most private member of U2, preferring to let the others take the lead in interviews, press conferences, etc. His passions are Elvis Presley and Harley Davidson.
