Baked Canned Ham...by Watchlady

1 - 5 pound canned ham

Place metal rack (if you have one w/your cooker) in pot. Remove ham from can and place on rack. Insert meat thermometer into center of ham.
Cover pot and place on base. Bake at setting #3 for 6-8 hours or until meat thermometer reaches 130 degrees. Slice ham and serve.

Italian Beef Sandwiches...by Watchlady

1 boneless beef chuck roast (3-4 lbs), trimmed
3 T dried basil
3 T dried oregano
1 cup water
1 envelope dry onion soup mix

Place roast in a slow cooker. Combine basil, oregano and water; pour over roast. Sprinkle with soup mix. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until meat is tender. Remove meat; shred with a fork and keep warm. Strain broth; skim off fat. Serve meat on rolls; use broth for dipping if desired. Yield: 10-12 servings

Barbecued Spareribs...by Watchlady

4 pounds country-style or southern style spareribs
1 - 10 1/2 oz. can tomato soup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 T soy sauce
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
dash cayenne pepper

Layer spareribs in pot. In a mixing bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients. Pour over spareribs.
Cover pot and place on base. Heat at Setting #3 for 6-8 hours. Skim fat from juices before serving (I drained off all the juice). Keep warm at setting #2. Makes 4 servings.

Slo-Cooked Chili by ???

2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
2 garlic cloves, finely cut
1 - 28 oz can whole tomatoes, undrained
2 - 16 oz cans kidney beans, undrained (I only used one)
2 tsp. salt
2 T chili powder
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. ground cumin

Put the crockpot on stove and add your ground beef and brown. Remove from heat and place pot on base.
Add onion, green pepper, garlic, tomatoes, kidney beans, salt, chili powder, pepper and cumin. Stir to combine. Cover and simmer at Setting #3 for 7-10 hours. Keep warm for serving at Setting #2. Makes 8-10 servings.

Pot Roast of Beef...by Watchlady

1 3-4 lb pot roast
2-3 potatoes, pared & thinly sliced
1-2 onions, peeled and sliced
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup water or beef consomme

Put vegetables in bottom of cooker. Salt & pepper meat, then put in pot. Add liquid. Cover and cook on Low 10-12 hours (High: 4-5 hours). Remove meat and vegetables with spatula.

Creamy Hash Browns...by Watchlady

1 pkg (2#) frozen cubed hash brown potatoes
2 cups (8 oz) shredded american cheese
2 cups (16 oz) sour cream
1 can (10 3/4 oz) cream of celery soup
1 can (10 3/4 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 # sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 large onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 tsp. pepper

Place potatoes in an ungreased 5 qt. slow cooker. In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over potatoes and mix well. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until potatoes are tender and heated through.
Yield: 14 servings

Beef Barbecue...by Watchlady

1 boneless chuck roast (3#)
1 cup barbecue sauce
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 small onion, chopped
Sandwich rolls or buns

Cut the roast into quarters, place in a greased 5 qt. slow cooker. In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, onion and brown sugar; pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender.
Remove roast and thinly slice; return meat to slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and cook 20-30 minutes longer. Skim fat from sauce. Serve beef and sauce on rolls or buns. Yield: 12 servings

Blueberry-Blackberry Cobbler...by Yve of Colorado

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 slightly beaten eggs
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
2 Tablespoons milk

1 1/2 Cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp finely shredded orange peel
Half-and-half, light cream, whipped cream, or ice cream(optional)

In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Combine eggs, oil, and milk; add to dry ingredients. Stir just till moistened. Spread batter evenly in the bottom of a 3 1/2 or 4-quart crockery cooker.
In a medium saucepan combine blueberries, blackberries, 2/3 cup sugar, water, and orange peel; bring to a boil. Pour hot fruit over batter.
Cover; cook on high-heat setting for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or till a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let stand about 30 minutes to cool slightly before serving.
To serve, spoon the warm cobbler into bowls. Serve with cream or ice cream, if desired. Makes 6 servings.
I use two 16 oz bags of frozen fruit. Berries, mixed berries, peaches, etc.. Whatever you want.

Barbecue Pork Roast...by Watchlady

1 pork roast (or beef)
1 bottle of barbecue sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp. sugar
1 small onion, chopped
Sandwich rolls or buns

Cook roast covered in water in crock pot overnight on low 10-12 hours. Pour off water and pull meat into shredded pieces. Saute onion in a little butter. Combine barbecue sauce, onions, sugar and juice of lemon with meat in crock pot and cook on high for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours or on low for 3-6 hours.

Crockpot Sweet and Sour Meatballs...by Bonnie in Georgia

1 pound ground chuck [holds together better than hamburger]
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg
1 cup oatmeal

Mix together and make into balls about 1 inch or a little bigger. DO NOT BROWN !!
SAUCE
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice [real lemon or generic works fine]
1 can tomato soup
Mix together; Pour sauce over meatballs and cook in crockpot 2-3 hours on high.
Sometimes I make a double recipe of sauce, because it does cook down.....

Crockpot Apple Pie...by Bonnie in Georgia

8 Tart Apples peeled and sliced
2-1/2 t ground cinnamon
1/2 t allspice
1/2 t nutmeg
3/4 cup milk
2 T butter soften
3/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1/2 c Bisquick
1 c Bisquick
1/3 c brown sugar
3 T cold butter

Toss apples in large bowl with cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Place in lightly greased crockpot.
Combine milk, softened butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and the 1/2 c Bisquick. Spoon over apples.
Combine the 1 cup Bisquick and brown sugar. Cut the cold butter into mixture until crumbly. Sprinkle this mixture over top of apple mixture.
Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours or until apples are soft.

Swiss Steak with Vegetables...by Watchlady

1 1/2 lbs round steak
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons oil
4 carrots (cut into 2" pieces)-I used small bag of baby carrots
4-6 medium potatoes-- quartered
1 onion sliced (optional)
1 can condensed onion soup
1 small can of mushrooms (optional)
1/2 cup water

Season the steak with salt, pepper and dust with flour. In a skillet, brown the meat in oil until browned on both sides. Place the vegetables in the bottom of the crockpot and cover with the meat. Mix the soup and water and pour over the meat. After a few hours, I mixed up the mixture because the meat looked like it might dry out. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours.

Barbecue...by Watchlady

4 lbs ground beef- browned
24 oz ketchup
4 T prep. mustard
2 T vinegar
4 T sugar
3/4 cup water
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
mushrooms, peppers, etc. as desired

Brown the ground beef, drain. Add other ingredients, mix well. Cook on high 1 to 2 hours or low - 4 hours.

Cube Steaks...by Watchlady

1/3 cup flour
6 beef cube steaks (1-1/2 lbs)
1 T vegetable oil
1 onion, sliced & separated into rings
3 cups water, divided
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1 envelope mushroom gravy mix
1 envelope onion gravy mix

Place flour in a large resealable plastic bag. Add steaks, a few at a time, and shake until completely coated. In a skillet, cook steaks in oil until lightly browned on each side.
Transfer to a slow cooker. Add onion and 2 cups water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until meat is tender.
In a bowl whisk together gravy mixes with remaining water. Add to slow cooker; cook 30 minutes longer.
Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
Yield: 6 servings.

Slow-Simmered Chicken, Pot Pie Style...by Susie in Massachusetts
(Cook about 7 hours; makes about 10 cups or 6 main dish servings.)

3 TBL margarine or butter
3 - 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 small onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 large celery stalks, sliced into 1 1/2-in. pieces
8 oz bag carrots, peeled and cut into strips
4 - 5 medium red potatoes, each cut into small wedges
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 can (14 oz) chicken broth
1/4 cup whipping cream

Place celery, potatoes and carrots in slow cooker.
In nonstick 10-inch skillet, melt 1 TBL margarine over medium heat. Add chicken to skillet; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Scatter onion around chicken. Cook chicken and onion 6 - 7 minutes or until it is browned on both sides.
Transfer chicken and onion to slow cooker. Melt remaining 2 TBL margarine in same skillet over medium heat. Add flour and cook 1 minute, stirring. Add broth and stir really well until it is smooth; then add cream - heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Pour broth mixture over chicken. Cover and cook on low 7 - 8 hours or until chicken and vegetables are tender.
With tongs, transfer chicken to cutting board. Cut meat into bite-size pieces; return meat to slow cooker. Cover and heat on high for about 15 miinutes.

Crockpot Roast Beef...by Michele in Pennsylvania

3-4 lb bottom round roast
1 can of cream of chicken soup.
(I use two or a double can if I make a bigger roast)
Garlic Salt
Pepper

Put in slow cooker and cook 8-10 hours.

Cheesy Creamed Corn by Andrew in Wisconsin (taken from Quick Cooking Magazine)

3 pkg (16 oz ea) frozen corn
2 pkg (one 8 oz & one 3 oz) cream cheese, cubed
1/4 cup butter or margarine, cubed
3 Tbsp water (br> 3 Tbls milk
2 Tbls sugar
6 slices process American cheese, cut into small pieces

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker; mix well.
Cover & cook on low for 4 hours or until heated through and the cheese is melted. Stir well before serving.
Yield: 12 servings

Crockpot Chow Mein...by Watchlady

4 oz can mushrooms
1 & 1/2 lbs. cubed round steak
4 stocks celery
2 med. onions
1 cup hot water with 3 bouillon cubes
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 lb. can Chinese vegetables
2 Tbsp. cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. water

Cook 8 - 10 hours on low in crockpot. 1 hour before serving add Chinese vegetables and cornstarch and water. Serve over white rice.

Homemade Meatballs by Gail in Maine

2 pounds hamburger
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 tablespoon oregano
1 cup parmesean cheese
1 cup dry bread crumbs
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk or water
1/2 grated cheese of your taste

Mix this together with spoon. Form into balls. I place mine on a cookie sheet and bake in 400 degree oven for 15-10 minutes to get them a little cooked and hard on the outside so they stay together better. Place in slow cooker with 1 large can stewed tomatoes,1 cup of sliced onions,1 green pepper diced, mushrooms sliced,1 can spagetti sauce or tomato sauce,I also add sweet and hot sausage links to mine. Simmer in slow cooker for 2 hours.
Great in italian rolls or with spaghetti.

Easy Chili by Gail in Maine

1 large can stewed tomatoes
1 large can of kidney beans
1 lb. hamburger (fried & scrambled like in spaghetti)
1 envelope of chili seasoning
sour cream

In slow cooker or on stove top, put tomatoes, kidney beans, hamburger and chili seasoning.Cook slowly so hamburger gets the flavor of chili. Place in a bowl and top with a dollopp of sour cream. Great for a cold day! Also good with corn bread.

BBQ Ribs in Crockpot by Watchlady (found at Cooks.com)

2 lbs boneless ribs
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. garlic salt
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce

Combine all ingredients in crockpot and cook on low setting for at least 6-8 hours.

Crockpot Chicken by Watchlady(found at Cooks.com)

1 whole chicken (fryer or roasting)
Pam spray
Salt and Pepper
Seasonings

Pam spray lightly your 3 quart crockpot. Place whole chicken in pot. Cover with lid. Cook on High 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, put on Low. Cook on Low for 6-8 hours. Do NOT add water! The chicken makes it's own juice and gets golden brown.
I made this recipe and it is simply delicious!

Salmon Patties by Jeane in Canada

2 large eggs, beaten
2 - 7.5 oz. Canned Salmon, drained, skin and round bones removed

1/2 cup water *see note below*
1 cup soda crackers, crushed
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp dill weed
1/16 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup corn flake crumbs
Note: Add gradually as you might not need it all.

Combine first 9 ingredients in bowl. Mix well. Shape into 4 patties.
Coat with corn flake crumbs. Place 4 patties in bottom of 3 1/2 qt. or 5 qt. slow cooker. Place remaining patties on top. Cover. Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on High for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Makes 8 patties.
1 patty: 171 calories.

Beef Stew by Watchlady

5 or 6 potatoes, cut up
1 # bag of baby carrots
2 # of beef stew meat (cut in cubes)
1 cup water (or more depending on desired consistency)
salt & pepper to taste
1 onion, cut in slices
mushrooms if desired
celery (cut up) if desired

Put all ingredients in crock pot in order listed. Stir just enough to mix. Cover and set to low for 8-10 hours. (Or High 5-6 hours)

BBQ Spareribs by Gail in Wisconsin

2 to 3 # country style ribs
1 cup ketchup
8 oz coke

Pour ketchup and coke over ribs and cook 2 hours on high or 3-4 hours on low.

Bean and Ham Soup by watchlady

1 & 1/2 c. dry navy beans
5 c. water
1 carrot, finely chopped
1/4 c. celery, finely chopped
1 mediium onion, chopped
1 (3/4 pound) ham hock, a meaty ham bone or several pieces of boneless ham
1/2 tsp salt
dash pepper

Soak beans for 12 hours and drain. Put beans in Dutch oven and cover with water; simmer for about 30 minutes.
Place all ingredients in a 3 to 5 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 10-12 hours. Remove ham hock and discard skin, fat, and bone. If using several pieces of boneless ham (like I did), ignore this step.)
Cut meat in small pieces and place in soup. Beans can be mashed if desired (I didn't)

Bavarian Meatballs by Watchlady

1 pkg (38 oz) frozen cooked Homestyle meatballs
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 can (12 oz) beer or nonalcoholic beer
12 hoagie buns, split
3 cups (12 oz) shredded swiss cheese

In a 3 qt. slow cooker, combine the meatballs, onion, brown sugar, soup mix and beer. Cover and cook on low for 3 & 1/2 to 4 & 1/2 hours or until heated through.
Serve with toothpicks for an appetizer. Or for sandwiches, place six meatballs on each bun bottom. Sprinkle each sandwich with 1/4 cup cheese. Place on a baking sheet. Broil for 2-3 min. or until cheese is melted. Replace bun tops.
Yield: 12 servings

Easy Pot Roast

3-4 # chuck roast
4 medium sized potatoes, cubed
1 # baby carrots
2 celery ribs, sliced thin
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
3 cups water

Put roast, potatoes, carrots and celery in slow cooker. Add onion soup mix and water. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours
