The board you should use, as the skeleton of your cover should be of heavy weight fiber or wood. Check out craft stores for different cardboard's and cut them into a size just a bit larger than your paper. Try to align your book up so it looks uniform.
Now as for what you choose to cover this wonderful piece of work I may have a few suggestions for you. First of all to make it as personal as possible. I would pick out a fabric or a heavy weight paper of a pattern or color of your choice. The paper may not hold up as well as the fabric so I myself would use a pretty pattern of fabric to use. You could embroider a symbol or your magical name on the front of it before you paste it on the board. Just remember to try to center the work before you paste. Or you could glue on a Talisman on the front. Pictures that you can't live without, frame the edges with fringe or rope. Add a matching bookmark. The more paper you put in the book, the more information you can add later, so don’t skimp. You can add all your information into one large book or make different books for different workings. Add a piece of ribbon on the inner edge section of the book on both front and back so you can tie it closed if you wish. Do this before you add that last piece of fabric over the inner side of the cover, to cover all the mess inside.
