Regimental History

Provost duty was a function of the 42^nd Wisconsin. The link below will give an explaination of provost duty as it had applied to the Civil War. For now, this is just a summary. As time progresses and more information is accumulated,it will be posted here.

We have been fortunate to get a copy of a poster showing Company C's roster. It is a beautiful document and worth displaying.

I want to thank Susan Puck for the donation! Susan has been involved with researching the 23rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and through her research she had come across this poster!
