Dislocation Analysis at Crack Tips at Phase Boundaries in an intermetallic NiAl/NbNiAl-alloy
This paper describes the quantitative analysis of dislocations in Burgers vector, line vector, slip systems and frequency in the B2-NiAl-phase, which has dissolved about 2at% Nb. The result of this analysis correspends very well to the generell rule: The higher the Schmid factor of the slip system, the higher is the number of dislocations. The number of slip systems in NiAl was foudn to be very high, which agrees well to a previously proposed "pencil glide" model for B2-alloys and even for bcc-metals.
