The GP300 VHF model will only do 146 MHz to 174 MHz. This does not do much for those ham operators. As we know the U.S. Ham bands are from 144 MHz to 148 MHz. This can be fixed real easily through programming.
Open the RSS (Radio Service Software) and read the radio. When in the individual mode screen enter the frequency BUT when you enter the frequency type it like the following......
for under 146 hold shift for all the numerals. Let go for the ".".
Example- 145.13000 would be !$%.!#)))
145.12300 would be !$%.!@#))
NOTE THE POINT (.) IS PUT IN NORMAL
